Participate: Earn Volunteer Hours

As an organizer of the 24 Hour wake you are dedicating countless hours to the organizational aspect of the event. The time spent advertising the event, planning for the event, collecting donations, asking for sponsorships, and anything else besides doing the event itself counts as volunteer hours!

This is a great way to earn your community service hours while participating in an event that will directly affect people on a global perspective. If you are a high school student and you’ve already fulfilled your 40 hours of community service, don’t stop there! There are many scholarships that are offered to people who go above and beyond the required 40 hours.

If you are a university student, you may not need to fulfill any community service hour requirements, but an experience such as this one will definitely give you the competitive edge for scholarship applications as well as graduate and professional program applications.
