Social Media Coordinator

Summary

LetsStopAIDS is a Canadian youth-HIV charity that focuses on HIV prevention and knowledge exchange by engaging young people and fostering leadership. Since 2004, we have been creating a global network of youth-HIV leaders. 

LetsStopAIDS has an exciting volunteer internship opportunity for a confident, results-driven professional to join our communications team. Under the direction of the Digital Content Manager, the Social Media Coordinator will connect with others and build mutually positive relationships with influencers while being an essential part of the LetsStopAIDS Social Media team, creating meaningful and purposeful content.

Responsibilities

- Create content and write for all platforms of social media (ie. Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)

- Develop and execute social media strategies for projects, programs, or events – in addition to any news that is of importance to our audience

- Collaborate with the social media team as well as the larger LetsStopAIDS team in maintaining LetsStopAIDS' personality and mission while conversing with our audience, moderating and kicking off conversations, and piquing interest in the organization

- Assist the Digital Marketing team to monitor and evaluate previously launched social media campaigns

- Maintain various social media accounts on a variety of platforms

- Provide social media coverage at major publicity events and functions

Qualifications

- Savvy with social media platforms such as Tik Tok, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook

- Background and experience in working with social media strategy with a proven knowledge of latest social media trends and best practices

- Superior oral and written communication skills

- Solid time management skills and with strong attention to detail

- Basic audio/video editing skill

- Self-starter able to meet deadlines and juggle numerous projects

- Team player with a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal and leadership skills who can take direction
